Garden House: Student Flats in Headingley

Conor, Structural Geology and Geophysics MSc student at University of Leeds, has written this week’s blog post about his year so far at Garden House student flats.

“As the Residents’ Assistant it has been a pleasure to get to know so many lovely characters and I am lucky to have spent my postgraduate year here.

Garden House provides the opportunity to integrate into a diverse community of students. Share new experiences, meet a variety of cultures, try new cuisine and form friendships.

A mixture of postgraduate and undergraduate, you will have the opportunity to participate in frequent gatherings and inter-flat fun. Unipol organises and runs monthly events involving free food, pub runs and games nights.

Tucked away from the main road with little noise and surrounded by green space, perfectly located between the University of Leeds and Beckett, and less than a half hour walk to either. The countryside is on your doorstep, but you still are in walking distance to rail and bus links and a stone’s throw from the centre of Kirkstall and Headingley. The site is safe and secure, you will have access to free parking and bike storage, and BBQ facilities.

Each flat is well equipped and tastefully furnished; integrated washing and drying facilities, plenty of fridge-freezer space and a centralised heating system.

Your personal bedroom is decked with deskspace and storage – enough for comfortable study and completing all those essay deadlines. The cosy, warm and welcoming communal area is ideal for a late-night film session with the flat after a long day at uni. The WiFi is fast and the smart screen TV has streaming capabilities for your Netflix or Amazon Prime viewing luxury.

Affordable and with the convenience of all-inclusive bills (including a TV licence) you live as stress-free as possible. The on-site Resident Assistant provides 24/7 support and maintenance, resolving any issues quickly so you can get on with your day.

On a personal note, it’s the perfect environment for your student experience. You’ll get to know everyone at the welcome event Unipol organises at the start of the year, and from there it’s only up!”
